A
fifth generation Texan of German and English descent, Dottie has
lived in Texas most of her life. She comes from a family
of artists, and has experimented with various forms of art
herself.....quilting, painting, leatherwork, needlepoint,
photography and won awards for several counted cross stitch designs.
She began designing jewelry in the late 1990's for herself, family
and friends and it has grown from there.
Shortly
after moving, with her husband, to the "suburbs" of Hye, Texas in
2000, she began to build her jewelry business. Reading, researching
and taking classes to learn new techniques and silversmithing; and
finding other silver and lampwork bead artists with which to
collaborate.
Most of her designs are Southwestern made from Sterling, Bali and
Hill Tribe Silver, Turquoise, Coral, Lapis, Spiny Oyster and more.
She often uses Artisan made silver beads, clasps, and pendants, many
made by Dottie herself.
