Richard
Ewen is an artist who has traveled to France annually for several
years and used Paris and the French countryside as his subject.
Always intrigued by the city and its architecture he has captured
the past of Paris within its modern setting in his masterfully
painted watercolors of the windows along the streets of Paris and
the reflections emanating from the street, a still life within a
cityscape. These intricate paintings are boldly colorful and contain
many subtle images not seen at first glance.
While
based in Los Angeles Mr. Ewen painted many cityscapes. Moving from
Los Angeles in 2006, Mr. Ewen began painting images from Austin and
the surrounding towns. He is a member of the American Watercolor
Society, the Texas Watercolor Society, the Plein Air Austin Group,
and Austin Visual Art Association
