Bonnie Martin

When Bonnie Martin was 11 years old, she took a sewing class and it became her passion. Bonnie’s been creating ever since! There are so many things that have inspired her designs - shapes, colors, textures, photos, keys, flowers - pretty much anything and everything. She spends every free moment looking for treasures at fabric stores, garage sales and antique shops.

Though Bonnie Martin was formally educated as a Registered Nurse, she decided to create Bonnie Martin Designs to allow her to blend the two most important things in her life – being available to her children by working out of her home and designing "wearable art." It has been a thrill for Bonnie to watch the business grow. She now has a very loyal following in Austin, Dallas, and Houston and constantly gets inquiries from around the country, including from Los Angeles, New York, and Santa Fe. One of the most rewarding aspects of her success has been that she’s had the opportunity to employ other women to help with production, giving them the same chance to work from their homes so that they too can be available to their children.
